Signing Up to Harvest

It is the responsibility of each household to sign up for a harvest day. Some important tips:

  • Each harvest day requires three or four members, each with a car. We need your car, as well as you, to get all the vegetables delivered from the farm to the Twin Cities.
  • Signing up early in the season helps the distribution coordinator, gives you a better choice, and leaves the farmers free to farm rather than worry about recruiting and coordinating helpers. Check out our calendar and email us your sign-up date.
  • When you contact the delivery coordinator, be sure to give her your name,
phone number or e-mail, your preferred delivery date, the kind of car
(mainly its size) you will be driving, and how many people will be coming
    with you.
  • Can you sign up for more than one harvest day? Great! We'd love to have you!
  • Heavy, bulkier veggies tend to arrive toward the end of the season. If you
have a larger vehicle, or are driving out with just one other person in your
car, consider coming during late August, September or October.
  • If you have to cancel your harvest day (we understand that emergencies come up), please call either the current harvest day coordinator or the farm as soon as you can, giving everyone as much notice as possible so that another member can be recruited to take your place. Remember to sign up for another day!
  • If you pick up your vegetables on a Tuesday, please try to sign up for a Tuesday harvest day.
  • What happens on a harvest day? Lots of stuff!
