Happy 25th!Farm News 8/8/09
My parents 25th Anniversary was this past Tuesday, and on Wednesday they left to go up to Bayfield for a mini-vacation Wednesday and Thursday, and left me in charge of the farm for a day. They take immense pride in the farm and the produce that they send to you, and being boss for a day while they were gone really made me want to live up to their standards.

One of my friends and a worker on the crew, Matt, was telling me one day that if he ran this place, he would be off running “important” errands all the time and driving around on the tractor for fun, and it was good for some laughs to imagine my parents slacking off and having a laugh at us crawling around in the dirt. What really made that story funny was that it was the total opposite of my parents. They are always up early in the morning and do most of the same work the crew does, and when we are done, they go out again in the afternoon. There is always work to be done and you will never get to all of it, but my parents try their utmost to make the farm the best it can be. I will never be a farmer and I can’t imagine doing it for as long as my parents have, but growing up on a farm with my mom and dad has taught me many things like hard work, integrity, and making sure to find time to relax and have some fun.

I want to thank all the members, the work crew, Katie and Maggie, and especially my parents for making the farm an awesome place to grow up and for all the good times we’ve had. Happy 25th Anniversary Mom and Dad!
